Cappy is the nickname given to a migratory female Anatum Peregrine Falcon that has been wintering in the Mission District of San Francisco since 2000. She usually arrives in October and stays until March. No one knows where she spends the breeding season. She is not banded as you can see from the photos, but she is magnificent. She was nicknamed Cappy because her favorite roost is the church steeple at the corner of Capp and 23rd Streets.
