DESCRIPTION: Noon again on Pier 14. My heart is lifted a bit seeing this apparently healthy male Surf Scoter winging quickly past the pier. It flew a mile north of me, then circled back and landed at W2 where I spotted a small flock floating in the water. Perhaps it is a late arrival and did not experience the worst of the spill.
