It is the heart of the fall migration on the San Francisco peninsula. While doing gardening in our back yard here in the Mission District of the city, we heard the familar cry of the red-tail. Looking up we saw two rather low down, soaring in the thermals. We watched them for quite some time till they disappeared on the other side of the house. I went to the front and found the two had decided to land on the US Bank building across the street so I went in and got my camera. This is what I captured. So here are 48 views of two Red-tail Hawks. Shot hand held with 500mm f4 lens and 1.4 teleconverter on Canon 30D 8.2 megapixel body. Most shots cropped about 75 to 50%.
