DESCRIPTION: Noon at Pier 14, the weather was almost misty, the light was uniform and soft. Birds were sparse for the most part, but I stayed on the pier in the hopes of catching something close in. I was rewarded with a few choice shots starting with this Heerman's Gull passing close to the pier. All shots this page taken with 500mm F4 lens with 1.4 teleconverter on Canon 30D body.
