DESCRIPTION: The time is 5:52 pm, at Pier 14 and the light is still somewhat smoky from forest fires. Equipment used, Canon 40D and 400mm f5.6 lens, ISO 400, f/7.1 1/1600sec or so.
This is a Double-crested Cormorant, once endangered from DDT, now the population is strong.
